Waiting for Green

Ben Miller was born in Modesto, California, but spent most of his childhood in Belize, Central America, where his parents were missionaries. While in Belize, Ben spent many weekends on the Caribbean Sea or exploring the many jungles and rivers of the country. The tremendous scenery and wildlife inspired him to start drawing at an early age and that desire to capture his surroundings has continued throughout his life.

While pursuing a degree in graphic design at the University of Pacific in Stockton, California, Ben was persuaded to take a painting class with his advisor and eventual mentor, Ron Pecchenino (an accomplished artist). He soon found a natural link between his desire to express himself more freely and this classic medium. With an easel and a brush, Ben transforms ordinary settings into works of art through his interpretation of color, use of brush stroke and unique vision. His paintings cover subject matter ranging from cityscapes and nightlife scenes to figurative portraiture.

Ben lives and works in Modesto where he enjoys capturing California's diverse scenery.
